Rotations in the Ministry of Interior

He has held the post of Deputy Minister of Interior since October 9, 2017, and has held this position at a time when the ministry has changed three heads. Lamallari came to this post at the time when the Ministry of Interior was headed by Fatmir Xhafaj who held its position until October 27, 2018.

Xhafaj took over the post of Interior Minister in March 2017 following the resignation of Saimir Tahiri and left the post a few weeks later after a political agreement between Rama and Basha passed the leadership of the Interior Ministry to the opposition.

He was reappointed minister in September 2017 after the Socialist Party won the parliamentary elections. After Xhafaj's departure, the former General Sander Lleshaj came to head the Ministry of Interior, who remained in charge of this department for at least two years, being succeeded in this position by Bledi Çuçi, formerly Minister of Agriculture.

Meanwhile, Besfort Lamallari has been in his duty as Deputy Minister despite these changes in one of the most important ministries in Albania. Now he will lead the Interior Ministry until April 30.
