Wildfires in Albania Kill One Person while Dozens Forced to Flee
A man has died from burns and dozens of people have been forced to flee as wildfires sweep through parts of Albania this Tuesday fuelled by strong winds during a searing heatwave across Europe.
The victim was a 80-year-old, died due to asphyxiation after he started a fire, to burn the garbage in his garden and the flames become huge due to strong winds in Kullollas village of Albania.
Meanwhile, other villages of Gramsh continue to be in a critical situation as fire arrived near their homes.
The Defense Ministry evacuated immediately the residents of the villages of Kullollas, Bletëz, Menkollar, Shimër, Skënderbegas, Spanesh asd Kazie, while urged to everyone to collaborate with the authorities.
