Woman Detained at Vlora Court After Metal Detector Alerts Security to Large Knife
A woman has been detained after attempting to enter the premises of the Court of First Instance of Vlora to attend a scheduled hearing, when a security scanner detected the presence of a metallic object.
According to reports, as she passed through the scanner, an alarm signaled that she was carrying a metal item. The woman reportedly attempted to leave the screening area and move toward another exit inside the courthouse but was stopped by court security staff, who immediately alerted the police.
Upon the arrival of officers from the Albanian State Police, she reportedly stated that she intended to return the object to her vehicle and asked not to be physically searched, citing religious reasons and the fact that the officers present were male.
Authorities have not confirmed the reason the woman was carrying a knife inside the courthouse. However, sources suggest it may have been intended for use during the judicial proceedings.
The knife, described as large in size, was seized as material evidence, while the woman was escorted to a police station for further questioning.
