16th Day of Hunger Strike, Oil-Workers Clash with Police
On the 16th day of the oil workers' hunger strike in Ballsh, the latter clashed with police forces.
Oilmen have gathered in front of the gate of the Plant. They said they would get the workbooks: "We are without bread. We are looking for the owner. We will wait 10 minutes for things to be resolved."
The plant is guarded by private police, with whom oil workers have clashed. The oil workers are calling for the gates of the plant to be opened. The oil workers claim that there is no one inside the plant, so they want to get inside.
Ballsh oil workers continue their hunger strike and are on its 16th day. The United Farmers Union of Albania is also in support of them.
The head of the Farmers' Association, Eduart Sharka, said that they are in defense of the oil workers and that the farmers have the same problems with them.
"We have come to symbolically support them. The hunger strike is the latest form of protest and we support any decision taken. We will be close to the oil workers, as they have the same problems as us. Farmers have the same concerns, as they have not received the money from the collection points", said the president of the Farmers' Union, Eduart Sharka.
