Albania Proposes Four New Ambassadorial Appointments for Key Diplomatic Missions

Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, has officially signed and submitted to Parliament a new set of diplomatic appointments involving four ambassadorial candidates expected to lead several of Albania’s key missions abroad.

According to local media the proposed appointments cover Albania’s representation at the United Nations in Geneva, as well as diplomatic missions across Northern Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Balkans.

The Albanian Parliament has been presented with the following nominations:

  • Dastid Koreshi has been proposed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Permanent Mission of Albania to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, serving as resident ambassador.
  • Elvira Isufi has been nominated as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Albania to the Kingdom of Sweden, resident, while also serving as non-resident ambassador to Finland, Iceland, and Norway.
  • Florian Nova has been proposed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Albania to the Arab Republic of Egypt, resident, with additional non-resident accreditation to Syria, Jordan, Libya, Palestine, Lebanon, and Sudan.
  • Spiro Koçi has been nominated as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Albania to Bosnia and Herzegovina, serving as resident ambassador.

The proposed diplomatic reshuffle is expected to strengthen Albania’s international representation and regional engagement across several strategic capitals and multilateral institutions. The appointments will proceed through parliamentary review procedures before receiving final approval.
