The Parliament of Albania on Tuesday approved a significant resolution declaring Iran a “state sponsor of terrorism,” marking a decisive move aligned with the country’s international commitments to combat terrorism.

The decision was reached during a session that lasted approximately 30 minutes, underscoring the urgency and broad political consensus surrounding the issue.

Lawmakers overwhelmingly backed the resolution, which passed with 79 votes in favor and just one abstention. The outcome reflects strong support from members of the ruling majority.

During the brief discussions, legislators emphasized the importance of the measure as part of Albania’s ongoing efforts to strengthen global security and uphold its role in international anti-terrorism initiatives.
