Erkand Qerimaj, Albanian weightlifter, after being declared European champion in breakaway style and runner-up in the Mediterranean Games, was also praised by President of the Republic, Ilir Meta. 

The Albanian champion was awarded the "Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu" decoration, which is given to people who achieve great success in certain fields, including sports. 

"A very happy day! After many years of work, sacrifice in 20 years, with Mediterranean, European and World medals, together with raising and honouring the national flag in international arenas, the appreciation comes! 

I thank the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, for the award with the high decoration "Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu"! I am very honoured to wear this decoration," writes Qerimaj, also publishing the photos of the occasion.
