Albania Approves Health Protocol on Election Day

Ministry of Health and Social Protection has published Tuesday, just 5 days before the general polls of April 25, 2021, a protocol aiming at protecting the voters from COVID-19 infection on the election day.

According to the new rules, participation in the election of persons that have tested positive for the coronavirus is prohibited, while they, or those who have symptoms of the virus, must remain isolated.

Among other things, the Health Ministry charges the Central Elections Commission (CEC) with the implementation of a series of measures and conditions in the polling stations, which must be the first floor, and have separate entrances and exits.

In addition to the mask, which is already mandatory, citizens will have to respect social distancing, namely maintain a distance of about 1.5 meters from the other voters.
