Tensions have escalated near Albania’s Ministry of Education along Durrës Street, as clashes broke out between protesters and police following a brief period of calm.

Protesters began confronting law enforcement officers, throwing stones and pyrotechnic devices at police lines.

Police responded by deploying water cannons and tear gas in an attempt to disperse the crowd and regain control of the situation.

The clashes mark a renewed escalation at the protest site, where the calm between demonstrators and security forces proved short-lived.
