EU Sees Albania’s C. Court Functionality as ‘Considerable Achievement’
EU Ambassador to Albania Luigi Soreca has reacted Thursday immediately after the swearing in of the 6th member of the Constitutional Court Përparim Kalo.
The European Union Head diplomat wished success to Kalo and all Court judges while considering the becoming functional of the Constitutional as a “considerable achievementâ€.
“Today Mr. Perparim Kalo has been sworn in by President Ilir Meta as the 6th Member of the Constitutional Court. We congratulate him and wish good work to him and all Members as the Court is now functional, a considerable achievement for Albania ,its citizens and Justice Reformâ€, tweeted Ambassador Soreca.
Earlier today, Kalo, the sixth appointed member of the Constitutional Court (CC), was summoned to take his oath of office before the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta. Kalo is the sixth member of the Constitutional Court, already making this court functional and fulfilling an international requirement to put it into operation Constitutional Court within this year.
The nine-member Constitutional Court, established in 1992, stopped working in July 2018.
Meanwhile, the announcement of the press office of the Presidency stated that “Mr. Përparim Kalo, appointed member of the Constitutional Court, is summoned to take the oath of office before the President of the Republic, on Thursday, 24.12.2020, at 10:30â€.
