Fier Prosecution Brought M.R. to Trial after Seizing Arsenal of Weapons, Ammunition, and Suppressed Combat Equipment
Fier Prosecution Office concluded the investigations and brought M.R. to trial on charges of “Manufacture and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition”, as stipulated in Article 278, paragraph 6, of the Albanian Criminal Code.
The investigation into criminal case No. 1586 of 2025 established that the defendant, M.R., was carrying a pistol and 50 rounds of ammunition while driving a vehicle. During subsequent investigative measures and searches of premises used by him, authorities also seized an additional 12 firearms: 10 Model 56 assault rifles, one Škorpion submachine gun, and one pistol. According to the technical ballistic examination, all of the weapons were fully functional.
Additionally, authorities seized 465 rounds of live ammunition of various calibers, 14 magazines for automatic rifles, rifles, and pistols, as well as two firearm suppressors.
Technical ballistic examinations proved that all of the seized firearms and ammunition were in working order and fully operational. The investigation also uncovered evidence suggesting that some of the weapons were being stored for illegal sale, and these allegations are being investigated separately under a distinct criminal proceeding.
Fier Prosecution Office reaffirms its commitment to combating all forms of criminal activity threatening public order and security, particularly offenses involving the illegal possession, manufacture, and trafficking of firearms and ammunition.
The Prosecution Office, in close cooperation with the State Police and other law enforcement institutions, will resolutely exercise its constitutional and legal mandate to identify, investigate, and prosecute the perpetrators of such offenses, for safeguarding public order, enhancing citizens’ security, and strengthening public trust in the justice system.Fier Prosecution Brought M.R. to Trial after Seizing Arsenal of Weapons, Ammunition, and Suppressed Combat Equipment
