Prosecutor Rovena Zoto (Bozo) has officially become the second candidate to enter the race for the position of Albania's Prosecutor General after submitting her application to the High Prosecutorial Council (KLP).

Her candidacy follows that of Adnan Xholi, who formally submitted his application to the KLP a day earlier.

Zoto currently serves as a prosecutor at the Tirana Prosecution Office. She graduated from Albania's School of Magistrates and was appointed prosecutor in 2010.

Over her more than 15-year career, she has served at the prosecution offices in Lushnjë, Fier and Tirana, handling a broad range of criminal investigations. Her work has focused primarily on money laundering, terrorism financing, financial crime and asset investigations.

During the early stages of her career, Zoto worked in the Economic and Financial Crime Section as well as the Illegal Trafficking Section at the Tirana Prosecution Office. While serving in Lushnjë, she investigated various criminal cases, with a significant emphasis on economic and financial offenses.

Since 2021, Zoto has been serving at the Tirana Prosecution Office, initially working in the Narcotics, Trafficking and Serious Crimes Against Life Section before joining the Special Section.

Since March 2026, she has headed the Juvenile Criminal Justice Section at the Tirana Prosecution Office.

Among the most recent high-profile cases handled by Zoto is the investigation involving Granit Pepnika in connection with the alleged activities of fraudulent call center operations.

With Zoto's application, the competition for Albania's next Prosecutor General now officially includes two candidates as the nomination process continues before the High Prosecutorial Council.
