Rama Urges Socialist Officials to Prioritize Citizens’ Concerns and Strengthen Ground Presence
Prime Minister and Socialist Party leader Edi Rama has instructed political coordinators across the country’s 12 regions and cabinet ministers to prioritize the analysis of citizens’ concerns and accelerate efforts to address local issues.
According to sources familiar with the meeting at the Socialist Party headquarters, Rama emphasized that while what he described as a “hybrid war” conducted through online networks and protests represents one side of the political landscape, the government must also focus on the concerns raised directly by citizens.
Rama called for a stronger presence of members of parliament in local communities, arguing that direct contact with citizens cannot be replaced solely by activity on social media platforms.
The prime minister also highlighted the importance of ensuring the effective operation of parliamentary constituency offices in every city, stressing their role in maintaining communication between elected representatives and the public.
The issue of coordination between lawmakers and government ministries was also raised during the meeting. Rama reportedly underlined the need for ministries to respond efficiently and without delay to concerns brought forward by MPs, ensuring that solutions are delivered in a timely manner.
The discussion was partly prompted by repeated concerns voiced by Socialist MP Erion Braçe regarding the responsiveness of ministers when deputies seek solutions to problems affecting their constituencies.
In addition, Rama stressed the importance of communication through social media, encouraging both ministers and MPs to increase their online engagement and improve the delivery of their messages to the public.
