Tensions Erupt Outside Albanian Parliament as Protesters Throw Eggs and Trash

Tensions flared outside Albania's Parliament on Thursday as demonstrators gathered to protest during a plenary session, throwing eggs at the parliamentary building and dumping trash on lawmakers' vehicles.

The protest took place while lawmakers were meeting inside the chamber, with the parliamentary session having begun earlier in the morning.

Protesters also targeted cars parked outside the building that were used by members of parliament, covering several of them with garbage as part of the demonstration.

Earlier, demonstrators confronted lawmakers as they arrived at Parliament, chanting slogans including "Your time is over" and "Sold-out opposition."

A heavy police presence surrounded the area to prevent further escalation. Protesters also placed a garbage container near the entrance to Parliament, writing the names of several lawmakers on it as a symbolic act of protest.

No immediate reports of injuries or arrests were available.
