Just a few hours after the ultimatum of Prime Minister Edi Rama who demanded zero tolerance for illegal constructions, the Kukës police took the first action.

In the framework of the police operation codenamed "INFORMALITY 4", 32 citizens in this region, from Kukes, Tropoja and Has, were prosecuted on their own recognizance for construction without a permit. 5 urban planners and inspectors were also prosecuted for abuse of office.

In total, 130 illegal constructions have been identified in Kukës, Has and Tropojë.

But what did Edi Rama say? The Prime Minister today demanded the immediate launch of the control operation on the coastline for illegal constructions. Rama said that this should happen now and not in the middle of the season. The head of the government said that with the legal changes, the engineer, the architect and the supervisor of the works also risk imprisonment if he becomes a partner with the investor. The head of government also criticized the police for not acting regarding illegal construction at the Albanian coastline.
