Appeals Court Upholds Detention of Film Director in Fatal Crash Case
The Apeal court has upheld the pretrial detention of film director Petri Bozo, rejecting his request for a lighter security measure as he faces charges over a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of a seven-year-old boy.
The General Jurisdiction Court of Appeal ruled that Bozo will remain in custody, dismissing his appeal to replace the existing detention order with a less restrictive measure.
The incident occurred on the morning of May 25 near the village school in Mengël.
According to the investigation, a vehicle driven by Bozo struck and killed a seven-year-old first-grade student. Authorities said the child was standing near the roadside with his mother after the two had accompanied his younger sister to school when the collision occurred.
The investigation into the case remains ongoing.
