Five wildfires remained active across Albania on Tuesday, with authorities deploying dozens of firefighters, civil protection personnel and military forces to contain the flames, according to the Ministry of Defense.

As of 2 p.m., authorities had reported 11 wildfire incidents nationwide. Five remained active, five were under surveillance and one had been extinguished.

A total of 65 operational personnel and two firefighting vehicles were involved in the response, while the Albanian Armed Forces deployed 20 personnel and one helicopter to support firefighting operations.

Among the active fires, authorities reported ongoing intervention on Mount Dajti in Tirana, above the Qafë Mollë tunnels. The operation involves 40 firefighters, seven protected-area personnel and 20 members of the Armed Forces, supported by a military helicopter. Authorities said the flames remain active but pose no immediate threat to populated areas.

Other active fires were reported in Ballenjë and Qafë e Helmës in Dibër and Bulqizë, as well as Mount Dardhë in Librazhd, where a fire has reignited across an estimated 7–8 hectares of forest.

A further operation is underway in Valikardhë, Bulqizë, where firefighters are working to isolate the flames, which are being fueled by strong winds and high temperatures.

Authorities said the overall situation remains manageable, with operations focused primarily on the active fire zones. Areas including Gjegjan, Gojan, Prozhëm and Tërbun in Pukë no longer have active fires and remain under monitoring.

The National Civil Protection Agency is continuing to monitor the situation nationwide in coordination with local authorities and emergency structures. Operational teams remain deployed and on standby, with authorities prioritizing the protection of lives, homes and property.
