Reporting of a citizen was at the origin of the arrest of QSUT doctor Nazmi Metaliu and imaging technician Astrit Mansaku on February 2 of this year for corruption.

Citizen in question first went to the Trauma Hospital for some health concerns and then to QSUT to have a scan, where he met with the doctor Nazmi Metaliu, from whom he had been visited a few years ago. The citizen has expressed his concerns to Dr. Metaliu. The latter told him that a body scanner would answer his concerns.

As for how to get the service, the doctor tells him that he would arrange it after talking to the medical staff and that money should be given to them, as it is usually planned and delayed by several months.

After that, the citizen started cooperation with the police, which dates back to January 13, and made an agreement for interception.

Then, the citizen goes with another person and they talk to the doctor to leave the schedule for the scanner, since his friend also had problems with his lungs.

The doctor told him that he would talk about doing the service for 6000-7000 new ALL and when he had the exact day and time he would let him know.

Meanwhile, the investigative file reflects in detail the testimonies of the citizens involved in the wiretapping and the two arrested doctors, as well as the actions of the police.

In the service report for the day of the arrest on February 2, 2023, it appears that at 10:17 the two citizens go to the premises of the Mother Teresa Hospital in Tirana. First, they meet with Dr. Nazmi Metaliu and talk for about 7 minutes. The three then go to the lower floors of the pavilion. At 10:20 these citizens meet with the imager Astrit Mansaku to perform the scanner. Then one of the citizens enters to do the scanner. At 10:35 a.m., the two citizens leave the premises of Mother Teresa Hospital in Tirana.

After this moment, the police intervene in the scanner rooms, where the doctors are arrested. In the pocket of the apron, one found 5.000 new ALL and the other (Nazmi Metali) 1.000 new ALL.
