Second protest in Albanian capital Tirana about the killing of the 25-year-old Klodian Rasha has resulted in the arrest of 59 citizens and prosecution of 116 although the latter were not remanded into custody.

According to the Police, the day before the protesters were divided into several groups and for three hours they exercised violence in some parts of Tirana. Arrests and prosecutions about the protesters does not end here but work continues to capture and detain participants and other organizers, the police said.

Furthermore, the Police appeals on parents not to allow minors to participate in rallies or to be abused by adults, as participation only endangers their physical integrity and complicates the work of the Police in managing the rally, to prevent violence and destruction of property.

“Organized illegal gathering and demonstration, exercised violence and injured police officers, as well as destroyed public and private property, 59 citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto, and 116 other citizens were prosecuted while remaining free.

Around 18:00 on 10.12.2020, in front of the building of the Ministry of Interior, an illegal rally started which escalated into violent actions against the institution of the Ministry of Interior and against the employees of the State Police who were on duty”, announced the Police.
