Albania's Parliament convened in a plenary session on Monday as demonstrators gathered outside the parliamentary building following calls for a public protest.

A significant police presence was deployed around the Parliament to secure the area and ensure the orderly conduct of both the demonstration and the legislative session. Authorities implemented heightened security measures, with water cannon vehicles positioned nearby as a precaution in case tensions escalate.

Inside the chamber, lawmakers are expected to proceed with the parliamentary agenda, which includes proposed changes to the composition of parliamentary committees as well as other procedural matters.

The protest is unfolding under close police supervision, while parliamentary proceedings continue inside the legislature.
