Syrian Father and Daughter Taken to Hospital after Being Blocked in Korça Mountain

A Syrian minor 11-year-old girl together with her father had lost their way in a mountainous terrain on Mount Morava, above the village of Dishnica in Korça District, the police announced Sunday.

After getting the report on what had happened, police forces in cooperation with FRONTEX services, immediately set off towards the reported area to verify the information.

After several hours of searching, the police forces from the information gathered, assisted by residents of the area, made it possible to find two citizens, an 11-year-old minor girl and M. A., 28, a resident of Syria, illegal immigrants.

On their part, the two foreign nationals were transported to the Korça Hospital for medical assistance and do not risk losing their lives. They thanked the services of the police, FRONTEX and the residents for the assistance provided to them.
