Three police officers have been arrested and two others have been criminally prosecuted after being accused of corruption and abuse of office, as announced on Saturday by the Police Supervision Agency (PSA). 

Based on PSA's announcement, the police officers Inspector Eldo Shyti and Inspector Granit Nuraj have been arrested in the act of the Service Corps in the Special Force Sqiponja in DVP Vlora. 

Their arrest was made after the report received by two Dutch citizens, who on 15.09.2023, around 6:30 p.m., were stopped in the city of Vlora for violating traffic rules. The police officers, by abusing their duty, as well as by falsifying two minutes of administrative violation, are suspected to have benefited an amount of 30,000 lek for the purpose of not performing their functional duty, under the pretext that they would pay the fine and that they have favored them by not Driving license was suspended. 

In addition, the Police Surveillance Agency (Fier-Berat Region) in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Fier General Jurisdiction has detained Police Officer Klisman Çela with the duties of Interurban Traffic Service Unit in DVP Fier, suspected of committing the criminal offenses "Passive corruption" and "Abuse of duty". 

However, the arrest was carried out after he committed corrupt actions with vehicle drivers by not punishing them with administrative measures.
