Rama Accuses EU of Intervening in Electoral Campaign
Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted after the conversation of the leader of the Democrats Lulzim Basha with the EU Commissioner, Mariya Gabriel, describing their communication as an interference in the internal electoral campaign of an EU candidate country.
With harsh tones, Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasizes that the European Commission is not in the habit of sticking its nose in electoral campaigns, while adding that it expects official and public response from Brussels.
"Someone in Brussels should tell the commissioners who spend their working time to make electoral video chats with Lulëzim Basha, that this is called interference in the internal electoral campaign of an EU candidate country!
As far as I know, The European Commission is not in the habit of sticking its nose into election campaigns and I expect to learn it officially and publicly from Brussels!" Rama writes.
