Together We Can, the Force of Human Soul’s Union With Technology
Together we can, the new positioning of the Vodafone brand, which aims to unite the human spirit with technology comes even to Albania with a series of projects with high social and economic impact. This strategy was presented on Thursday afternoon by the General Director of Vodafone Albania, Mr. Achilleas Kanaris, in a special event attended by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Ms. Anila Denaj, Minister of Education, Ms. Evis Kushi, representatives of the embassies, businesses and media in the country.
Redforkids, the project that started as an emergency response to the need created during the pandemic to keep no children away from technology, by donating 15,000 tablets to children in need, will continue with a series of initiatives focused on developing digital knowledge for students across Albania as a comprehensive platform under the motto "Children of the future".
Children and young people are the focus of Vodafone's strategic investments, not only to guarantee education and the development of digital skills, but also to create employment opportunities for them.
VOIS, the latest Vodafone Albania project, will soon employ over 1000 youngsters, who will provide digital and operational services from Albania to Vodafone companies across Europe. VOIS Albania will be one of the 3 main hubs for the development of Vodafone Group services and platforms in Europe.
In these times when networks and technology are revolutionizing industries and economies around the world, digitalization is the focus of development in our country as well. Vodafone Albania is always at the forefront of innovation in Albania not only in communication products and services but also in digital services for consumers and businesses.
Vodafone Albania, as one of the largest foreign investors in Albania, has been operating in the market for 20 years with continuous investments amounting to 1.9 billion EUR.
Only in the last two years, when Albania faced the earthquake crisis and covid-19, Vodafone dedicated about 6 million EUR to initiatives for the handling of emergencies in parallel with the implementation of the strategic plan for the further development of network infrastructure in the country.
The key moment was entering the fixed market with the purchase of the second largest fixed operator, another step towards expanding the customer service portfolio. Certified over the years as the best mobile network in the country, just a few months after the launch of the 100 million EUR investment in fixed infrastructure, Vodafone was also certified as the best fixed network.
The Director General of Vodafone Albania, Mr. Kanaris, said in his speech that:
"Our commitment as Vodafone in Albania goes now beyond the traditional business logic as a telecommunications company. With our involvement in the activities of everyday life and investments in the social causes of the country, our position as a brand and our agenda has radically changed in the last two years."
Furthermore, Mr. Kanaris added that at the end of his 3-year journey in Albania, he feels proud of the achievements and enthusiastic about the projects that Vodafone Albania will continue for the realization of the digital agenda in the country. This commitment was confirmed also by Ms. Katia Stathaki, who takes over the direction of Vodafone Albania from July 1, 2021.
Together we can, together with technology towards the realization of the digital agenda for Albania.
