Balla: Albania Enters Decisive Phase of EU Accession, Zvernec Project to Meet EU Environmental Standards
Speaking at the opening of the 21st meeting held in Strasbourg, Taulant Balla, Head of the Parliamentary Group of Albania's Socialist Party, stated that Albania has entered the decisive phase of its European Union accession process.
In a Facebook post published later on Wednesday, Balla stressed that the planned tourism development project in Zvernec, backed by U.S. investment, will be implemented in accordance with the highest European environmental standards.
"Today's message at the European Parliament: The Zvernec tourism project will be developed in line with the best European environmental standards," Balla wrote.
During his address, Balla said Albania is expected to conclude negotiations on three additional chapters and hold the next Intergovernmental Conference, describing both as key milestones in the country's EU integration process.
He added that the progress achieved in recent months reflects Albania's reforms across several key areas, including the rule of law, democratic institutions, public administration, fundamental rights, security, sustainable development, and tourism.
